How to switch your war3 patch version

Hello guys,as there are more and more newborn dota players who do not know on how to switch their war3 patch version for certain purpose,i have decided to create a detailed way to guide them in this matter.




Introduction

Firstly,please allow me to introduce briefly about Warcraft Version Switcher(WVS) - the main tool
we need in this topic.


1) Warcraft Version Switcher(WVS) is a tool built specifically to upgrade or downgrade your war3 patch version.By just few clicks,it allows you to switch your version in the simplest way.

2) It supports changing of your current version to any other versions (1.20e,1.21b,1.22a,1.23a,1.24a,1.24b,1.24c,1.24d,1.24e,1.25a,1.25b,1.26a).

3) It enables you to watch older version game replay or upgrade your version to the latest one(1.26a) so it is up-to-date and compatible with other gamers.


Besides WVS,there are also version files that we will need.Let me illustrate a bit about version file
- It is a zip file which contains war3 files that hold the version data.

Ways to switch your War3 patch version(step by step)


1)Firstly,you must download Warcraft Version Switcher(from the download links above).

2)After downloading,extract the file into your War3 directory.

Example : C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Warcraft Version Switcher.

3)Now,download the TFT version file.If you wanna to switch to latest version 1.26a,
you just need to download the TFT Version files 1.26a.

4)Assume that you have downloaded the version file you want,now move the version file into the folder "WVS" folder inside "Warcraft Version Switcher" folder.
Example : C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Warcraft Version Switcher\WVS\TFT Version 1.26a

5)After that,double click on wvs.exe to launch the switcher.

6)Then,press on the upper left icon named "Switch version",double click a version file and click yes.

7)You are done now,you may wanna to check your current war3 patch version now.To do so,

run Warcraft 3 (normally or through garena or any other way you like)
Notice the version number at the bottom right corner.

It is
  • 1.24.0 for 1.24a 
  • 1.24.1 for 1.24b 
  • 1.24.2 for 1.24c 
  • 1.24.3 for 1.24d 
  • 1.24.4 for 1.24e
